Statutory Authorization: KSA 75-5290

The 28th Judicial District Community Corrections has been established and is governed by Kansas Statute under the Community Corrections Act. It is funded through the Kansas Department of Corrections operating under the direct authority of the Saline County Board of Commissions through the County Administrator. Community Corrections started providing services for the Juvenile Justice Authority in 1997 under legislative order. The programs of this agency have first receive the approval of the twenty member Community Corrections Advisory Board whose membership is set by Statute. The Advisory Board recommends to the Board of County Commission program changes and the yearly comprehensive plan/grant application. Community Corrections operates on a fiscal year of July through June.
